JAKARTA (IndependensI.com) – Setiap bulan Mei, bangsa Indonesia menyediakan satu hari khusus untuk memperingati Hari Pendidikan Nasional, belum diganti menjadi hari pengajaran nasional. Perbedaan mendasar dari pendidikan dan pengajaran adalah metode yang digunakan.
Jika mengajar, guru lebih ahli dari para peserta yang diajarnya sehingga semua peserta mengulang kembali apa yang diajarkan oleh guru. Mendidik mempunyai metode yang berbeda dengan dosen memberikan suatu materi dan diharapkan materi tersebut menjadi dasar bagi peserta didiknya untuk mengembangkan materi tersebut.
Kadangkala, hasil dari materi para peserta didik, dijadikan acuan atau referensi bagi dosen. Ini yang diistilahkan dengan proses pendidikan sehingga akan muncul temuan-temuan baru sesuai dengan perkembangan jaman. Sangat lazim dalam dunia pendidikan tinggi dikenal dengan istilah grand theory, middle theory dan substance theory atau beberapa pendidik menyebutkan applied theory.
Oleh sebab itu, kebanyakan para dosen lebih suka diistilahkan dengan sebutan pendidik sebagai profesi mereka dibandingkan dengan istilah pengajar. Kadangkala, istilah pengajar diidentikan dengan pelatih (trainer/coacher/mentor).
Hal ini akan berbeda artinya karena pendidikan mempunyai suatu proses, mulai dari input-process design-output-outcome. Karena berproses, muncullah program pendidikan yang sangat dikenal dengan istilah kurikulum, yang merupakan hasil dari suatu proses dan mengikuti perkembangan. Dalam dunia perguruan tinggi, selalu terupdate dengan perubahan dan perkembangan dunia industri, bisnis, regulasi pemerintah, teknologi, transportasi, budaya dan globalisasi.
Proses Pendidikan
Sejalan dengan kebijakan Pemerintah Indonesia yakni memindahkan direkorat pendidikan tinggi dari Kementrian Pendidikan Nasional ke Kementrian Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi, sudah sesuai dengan proses mendidik yakni diharapkan para dosen dan mahasiswa berproses dan menghasilan luaran atau ouput yang sangat berguna bagi masyarakat yang merupakan stakeholders.
Hampir semua perguruan tinggi mulai merubah proses pendidikannya dimana dahulu menggunakan Satuan Acara Pendidikan (SAP) yang merupakan produk pengajaran menjadi Rencana Pembelajaran (RP).
Rencana pembelajaran ini merupakan turunan dari Garis Besar Program Pembelajaran (GBPP) dan dilengkapi dengan Rencana Tugas (RT). Karena masih merupakan rencana, maka setiap kali proses perkuliahan berlangsung, diharapkan para dosen dapat terus mengikuti perubahan-perubahan terkini. Dengan adanya rencana-rencana tugas, mahasiswa diharapkan terbiasa dengan konsep berpikir ilmiah dengan mengetahui fenomena, gejala, masalah-masalah dan kemungkinan-kemungkinan yang akan terjadi.
Bersama dengan dosen, mahasiswa akan mengkaji teori-teori terkini, baik dari buku, jurnal ataupun majalah ilmiah kampus untuk mencari jalan keluar atas permasalahan yang terjadi atau yang mungkin akan terjadi. Hasil dari proses pembelajaran ini akan sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarkat.
Contohnya, Jika 5 (lima) perguruan tinggi mempunyai satu mata kuliah yang sama dan diajarkan pada semester yang sama, maka akan menghasilkan 5 (lima) kajian yang baru karena akan terjadi perbedaan cara pandang atas suatu fenomena atau gejala yang sama. Hal ini akan memperkaya kasanah dan kajian ilmiah khas Indonesia.
Perguruan-perguruan tinggi di Indonesia pun akan diakui dunia internasional karena selama ini hanya beberapa perguruan tinggi saja yang dikenal di dunia internasional padahal Indonesia memiliki ratusan perguruan tinggi baik swasta dan negeri.
Linieritas
Untuk mencapai keberhasilan suatu proses pembelajaran maka para dosen dituntut untuk lebih ahli dalam bidangnya. Dimulai dari jenjang studi dosen, harus saling terkait atau dikenal dengan istilah linieritas, pengajaran mata kuliah sesuai dengan keahliannya, penelitian-penelitian baik dibiayai oleh hibah Pendidikan Tinggi maupun oleh pihak kampus harus sesuai dengan bidang ilmu dan keahlian dosen.
Hal ini dikarenakan misalnya seorang tenaga dosen yang mempelajari komunikasi pemasaran di fakultas sosial dan politik suatu universitas, meskipun masih bersinggungan dengan ilmu pemasaran yang diajarkan di fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis suatu universitas, tetapi tidak boleh serta merta dianggap bahwa dosen tersbut telah mengetahui secara mendalam tentang ilmu pemasaran (padahal yang diketahui adalah irisannya saja).
Memang, alasan yang dikemukakan bahwa ilmu pemasaran mudah dipelajari. Tetapi sangat disayangkan bahwa dosen tersebut tidak mempunyai pengetahuan tentang penelitian-penelitian pemasaran disertai dengan olah data di fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis secara terus menerus.
Hal ini sering terjadi karena buku-buku pemasaran di Indonesia, lebih banyak bersifat kualitatif dan bercerita, padahal dibandingkan dengan kampus-kampus diluar negeri, menggunakan buku pemasaran yang bersifat modifikasi antar kualitatif dan rumus-rumus pemecahan kuantitatif.
Di dunia usaha juga, kegiatan pemasaran sangat berhubungan erat dengan anggaran perusahaan, perhitungan matematis, sentuhan art dan optimalisasi sumberdaya-sumberdaya yang dimiliki perusahaan. Ini merupakan contoh salah satu aspek saja, tentunya banyak juga matakuliah-matakuliah yang seharusnya diajarkan oleh dosen dengan latar belakang linear keilmuannya. Artinya, para dosen senantiasa selalu mengembangkan keilmuannya sesuai bidangnya. Pemerintah Indonesia diharapkan tetap mensyaratkan hal ini baik dalam perhitungan Beban Kerja Dosen setiap semester maupun dalam rangka pemrosesan Jenjang kepangkatan dosen dan menjaga nomenklatur mengenai linier.
